Company History

Parallel Technologies, Inc. was co-founded by Marty Jacobs and Joe Redman in 1983. Each of them has over 35 years of experience in the telecommunication field. Both were executives at Sprint Corporation before starting Parallel Technologies.

The company's original focus was selling and servicing telephone system to the small to medium business market in central Ohio.

In the late 1980's the company begin to expand into the data arena; offering structured cabling design and installation as well as data network design and implementation. In the early 90's Parallel became a Comdial Distributor selling their Hybrid and PBX telephone systems. By 1998 they were Comdial’s largest dealer in the United States.

In 1998 Parallel opened their Cincinnati office. The company has since expanded their focus to include the sale of network services, video conferencing and a complete line of routers.

In 2002 Parallel became an authorized partner for NEC and has been named one of their top 25 dealers by 2005.

They became a ShoreTel partner in May of 2006, selling and servicing their VoIP telephony products. They have twice received ShoreTel's "Circle of Excellence" award. This prestigious award annually goes to ShoreTel's Top Ten Partners in the world.

Today they service over 4000 customers in central and southeastern Ohio and northern Kentucky. They have national account customers throughout the United States.

Parallel Technologies is the largest privately held provider of converged voice and data communications systems in the Midwest. In 2008, 2009 and 2010 Columbus Business First named the company one of Central Ohio's Top Ten "Best Places to Work."
